The number of individuals and families concerned about being able to afford food in Hall County rose from 10.2% in 2023 to 14.3% in 2025, according to research provided by the GA Mountain Food Bank (GMFB). In fact, across the entire GMFB service area (Hall, Forsyth, Dawson, Lumpkin and Union Counties), the number of food-insecure individuals rose by an average of 43.32%, with county-level increases ranging from 26% to nearly 60%.
During Fiscal Year 2025, GMFB, working alongside more than 80 non-profit partner agencies such as the South Hall Community Food Pantry (SHCFP), distributed 10,350,626 pounds of food and grocery products, providing the equivalent of approximately 8.3 million meals. This included an increase of 31.4% of fresh produce distributed as compared to 2024. But we would never be able to do what we do without you.
Maximizing Every Dollar
Last year, SHCFP and GMFB were able to provide $5.96 worth of food and grocery items to the community for every dollar spent. That means that every dollar of support you provide goes further. And your donations to the South Hall Community Food Pantry go directly to helping our neighbors. We’re entirely volunteer run including our Board of Directors.
If you’ve never donated, we’d love for you to join us. If you have given in the past, would you consider another donation now? Or better yet, become one of our monthly partners! Please click HERE and join us.
